Our first focus this term is 'Creation and Covenant'. Reception will be introduced to God through a special book called 'The Bible'. They will hear a very special story from the bible about Creation and how God created our wonderful world. They will listen to sacred scripture and pay close attention to the words;
God said, "Indeed it was very good."
Reception will learn how they are God's greatest creation and they are loved by Him and He loves everyone. They will understand that through Baptism, they enter into God's family. They will hear and practise the words and actions of the sign of the cross and learn about how to look after God's creation by being called to be stewards of the world.

Prophecy and Promise Branch 2
Our second topic in the autumn term is ‘Prophecy and Promise’. Reception will hear Luke 1 where they will find out about Mary saying, ‘Yes’ to God through the Annunciation. We will continue to hear the very special story of ‘The Nativity’ and the shepherd’s visit to baby Jesus in Luke 2. We will understand that Mary was chosen by God to give birth to His son and she laid him in a manger. We will look forward to celebrating Advent and taking part in lots of lovely activities to help us learn that God sent Jesus to love us all. Please enjoy looking at our pictures and pupil voice.
