The children have enjoyed fully immersing themselves in their first Vehicle Text of the year! We looked at objects from the book and its fascinating illustrations to explore possibilities about the story and make predictions 🐳
We have been learning about prepositions in class and how to use them effectively! The children played a board game to practise using prepositions in sentences that describe illustrations from our Vehicle Text.
We have been preparing for our second writing outcome - to write a newspaper report. We looked at a large advertisement and newspaper article from the Vehicle Text and discussed the possibilities of this being reality or a hoax.
We explored key vocabulary, phrase and sentences from our Vehicle Text. The children developed their confidence with using a dictionary to identify unfamiliar words and define them.
To help deepens our understanding of newspaper articles, we familiarised ourselves with the structure and language features of a newspaper report. We enjoyed working together to annotate our Example Text.
